The Origin of The New Norm
Female-Founded & Johns Hopkins Developed
Lauren Choi, founder of The New Norm, discovered her passion for sustainability as a Materials Engineering student at Johns Hopkins. Inspired by the party cups common on campus, she built an extruder in her garage to transform waste into yarn. Four years later, The New Norm launched its first products: the Party Sweater and Party Beanie. Proudly made in the U.S., these pieces embody Lauren’s mission to turn plastic waste into something beautiful and sustainable, proving that together, we can create a new norm for fashion.
